Simon Donker van Heel, PhD Candidate in Econometrics at Erasmus University Rotterdam

Simon is currently a PhD candidate in Econometrics at Erasmus University Rotterdam. Before starting his PhD, he completed a research master’s in Economics, Econometrics, and Finance at the Tinbergen Institute. His research focuses on time series analysis, particularly the development of econometric models to extract meaningful insights from data, with applications in economics, climate science, and finance. Passionate about addressing global challenges such as climate change and inequality, Simon believes in the power of interdisciplinary collaboration. By joining the 2100 movement, he applies his scientific rigor and analytical skills to create meaningful, real-world impact. Through this work, he aims to contribute to systemic changes that promote a sustainable and equitable global economy.
